Volunteer coaches are needed for all levels.
Without coaches we cannot have teams no matter how many children register.
Players must play in their appropriate age level unless exceptional circumstances are determined by our Technical Committee.
For more information refer to - Policy 120: Player Movement (found under the Information/Polices, Rules and Regs Tab)
Starting 2016 all Fort Saskatchewan outdoor U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19 community teams must play games in our home district of Tri-County. This means at registration Fort Saskatchewan players will not have the option of requesting that their team be a guest team in the Sherwood Park or Edmonton leagues. Tri-County will enter a guest team in EMSA or Sherwood Park leagues if there are not enough Tri-County teams (4 teams) at a given age level to form a Tri-County league. All U11 to U19 league team practices are in Fort Saskatchewan. U3, U5, U7, U9 and development program players will play all their games/practices in Fort Saskatchewan.
U11 to U19 League/Program Descriptions:
1. Tri-County League (U11 to U19) - The league runs May and June with U13-19 Provincials being mid July. Games are played in Fort Saskatchewan and in any of the other Tri-County communities. Practices are in Fort Saskatchewan. Tri-County communities include: Ardrossan, Athabasca, Bon Accord, Boyle, Bruderheim, Gibbons, Legal, Morinville, Redwater, Riviere Qui Barre, Smoky Lake, Thorhild, Tofield, and Westlock. Depending on the number of teams in each Tri-County U-level, teams may be split into a north vs south division.
2. Development Program (birth year 2010, 2009 or 2008) - This program is for second year U9 and U11 players. All sessions are in Fort Saskatchewan during May and June. This program is for new or existing soccer players who would like to focus more on personal and team development without the pressure of competition. Each age group will meet twice per week. One session will be led by Soccer is Everything and will focus on technical development. The second session will be led by our volunteer coaches and will focus on development through scrimmaging or other drills. Tournaments are optional for this program and the tournament fees are not included in the registration fees. There is no Provincial opportunity for this program. We will combine boys and girls for this program if we do not have enough registration to run separate programs.
Note: Special requests are not applicable for the Development Program. Our Technical team will combine age levels as determined by registration numbers.
3. Premier - Edmonton (EMSA) League (U11 and U13)
The U11 premier league runs May and June with no Provincial offering. The U13 premier league runs May, June and July with the Premier Provincials being mid August.
Youth premier teams will be offered if, during the premier tryout registration, there is enough player and coach interest for these programs. There will be tryouts at the levels at which have sufficient registrations to offer premier. Any player not present at tryouts or who doesn't make the premier and wants to play on a Fort Saskatchewan Soccer community team needs to be registered for the community program during the registration Feb 1-28.
Premier players/teams will have additional fees (for practices and league fees) which will be collected when the teams are finalized. Premier teams require greater commitment to games and practices than do the community teams. Premier players will be expected to attend extra practices and all games.
Fort Saskatchewan Soccer supports Soccer for Life and supports the expansion of adult programs. In the past seasons, Fort Saskatchewan Soccer had a coed recreational group which plays twice a week. Our coed recreational programs will be continuing in the outdoor season.
