Remember the most important skill: HAVE FUN!

At registration U12 community level players can choose to have their team play as a guest team in either the Sherwood Park (SPDSA) League or Edmonton (EMSA) Community League.

Program placement is based on a first come/first served basis with team placement based on requests by the majority. When there is more than one Fort Saskatchewan team in a particular program there will be player assessments in order to equalize/balance teams' skill level at the beginning of the season.

Games schedules are determined by the league in which our teams are guest teams. League information is also subject to changes by the league in which our teams play.

At registration U12 players can indicate if they wish to tryout for a Tier 3 team playing in Edmonton (EMSA) Tier 3 League.  Placement on Tier 3 teams is by tryout. Players interested in Tier 3 must register for community soccer and also for Tier 3 tryouts. Any player not present for tryouts or who doesn't make the Tier 3 cut will play community.

Additional fees and practices apply to Tier 3. Players in Tier 3 are expected to have a higher level of commitment than the Community programs. Players must attend one game and two practices per week.

If the team plays as a guest team in:

Sherwood Park Community League

(no official games results record or league standings are kept)

  • Play as a guest team in the Sherwood Park Community League.
  • Game day - historically Saturdays (afternoons or evenings)
  • A 50 minute game (2 x 25 minute halves).
  • Games will be played either at the Dow Centennial Centre (DCC) in Fort Saskatchewan or Millennium Place in Sherwood Park.
  • Practices are in Fort Saskatchewan
  • For more detailed information regarding Sherwood Park U12 programs please refer to: spdsa.net

Edmonton (EMSA) Community League

EMSA re-pools all teams twice during the season to ensure that competing teams are of a similar skill level.
Teams are then placed into tiers from 4 through 9. The third round of games also includes the ability for all teams to compete for a place in the Edmonton City Finals around the end of February in whatever tier the team happens to end up playing in.

  • Play in the EMSA Community League as a guest team.
  • Game day - historically Saturdays.
  • Practices are in Fort Saskatchewan.
  • A 50 minute game (2 x 25 minute halves).
  • Games will be played at one of the three Edmonton Indoor Soccer Centers. No games in Fort Saskatchewan.
  • Play three (3) rounds of five (5) games with re-pooling at the end of the first and second rounds. (Pooling is based on team game results in the prior round).
  • Eligible (competes for) EMSA Post Season Play (City Finals and Inter-Cities - Feb/Mar).
  • Eligible (competes for) Tri-County berth for ASA Tier 4 Provincials in March (dates & location to be determined).

Edmonton (EMSA) Tier 3 League

Tier 3 teams require greater commitment to games and practices than do the community teams. Tier 3 players will be expected to attend extra practices and all games.  Tryouts, extra practices and extra fees apply to the Tier 3 Program. Tier 3 players/teams will have additional fees (for practices and league fees) which will be collected when the teams are finalized.

Youth Tier 3 teams will be offered if, during the registration process, there is enough player and coach interest for these programs.

There will be tryouts at the levels at which have sufficient registrations to offer Tier 3.

  • Play in the EMSA Tier 3 League.
  • Game day - historically Tuesday (early evenings).
  • Practices are in Fort Saskatchewan.
  • A 50 minute game (2 x 25 minute halves).
  • Games will be played at one of the three Edmonton Indoor Soccer Centers. No games in Fort Saskatchewan.
  • Eligible (competes for) Tri-County berth for ASA Tier 3 Provincials in March (dates & location to be determined).
