2021 Outdoor Season Update

Good Morning Parents,

The Fort Saskatchewan Soccer Executive Committee met Monday night to discuss our options for the 2021 outdoor season. With the current AHS restrictions, prohibiting outdoor sports for a minimum of three weeks, we do not foresee being able to provide a soccer program for this season. Unfortunately, we will be cancelling our 2021 outdoor soccer season. This is a decision that was not taken lightly. Based on the current COVID numbers, the restrictions placed on us and the experience based on the other seasons we planned during the pandemic, we feel the decision to cancel the outdoor season is the best option.

It is our hope that when restrictions are relaxed, we can offer some soccer programs in July and August, restrictions and district approval pending. This will be a separate registration, so stay tuned to our website for those announcements. We will also send out an email. 

REFUNDS

We will process the refunds as quickly as possible. All pending payments scheduled for May 16 will be cancelled. Due to the volume of refunds being processed, it could take up to two weeks to get the refund processed. Refunds will be processed to the credit card used for registration. If the credit card is no longer active, please reply to this email by noon Thursday, May 13 letting Carol know and confirming your current address and a cheque will be issued and mailed to you. Credit card refunds may take up to five business days to show up in your account once processed. 

The cancellation policy posted on our registration page is copied below. We will be refunding as per the first option since no games/practices have been played. 

If the season is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, a refund will be issued, based on the following:

• Before games are played: 100% of deposit minus $15 non-refundable administration fee.
• After practices/games have started: prorated refund of expenses not incurred  minus 10% administration fee.

We would like to thank all the parents that registered your children for the outdoor season and for your patience as we worked through these challenges. At the time of registration, with COVID numbers low and vaccines available, we thought we were going to be able to have an outdoor season. 

We hope to see some familiar faces enrolled in our Indoor Soccer season or in the 2022 Outdoor season.  Please stay safe!
