What soccer equipment is needed?
For their safety, Alberta Soccer does not permit players to wear any jewelry during games or practices. This includes: earrings, necklaces, bracelets, bobby pins. Taping of jewelry is not sufficient to prevent player injury.
All players provide their shoes, water bottles and shin pads.
Parents, please remember to wash your child's jersey, shorts and socks frequently. Shin pads can also be washed and then air dried. Hot dryers can damage jerseys.
U3 to U9 players also provide their own shorts and socks which fully cover their shin pads.
Outdoor U3 players can wear outdoor sneakers. However, we suggest outdoor soccer cleats because the grass is very slippery when it is wet.
Outdoor U5 to U19 players should wear outdoor soccer cleats.
Indoor U3 players should wear indoor sneakers.
Indoor U5 to U19 players should wear indoor soccer shoes (no outdoor cleats).
Jerseys
Timbit Jerseys are generously provided by Tim Hortons. The Timbit players (U3, U5, U7 and U9's) can keep their jerseys at the end of the season.
U11 to U19 jerseys are on loan to the players. Players will receive a jersey at the beginning of the season once they have provided their coach with a $100 jersey deposit cheque. At the end of the season jerseys need to be returned to the coach.
The red and white striped jerseys will be replaces with this new jersey as sponsorship becomes available or is renewed. U11 to U19 players blue shorts and red socks are no longer included in the fees and given out each season. You can purchase as needed from Winners Way Source for Sports. Suppliers tweak their socks and socks every couple of years so there may be slight variations.
