What is the difference between Community and Club programs?
Our community program (Tier 4-7). It is targeted at those players who just enjoy playing soccer and want a less competitive environment. We still strive to coach the fundamentals of soccer. Teams have one practice a week and one to two games depending on the season.
Our competitive program (Tiers 1/2/3) is built for athletes who want to commit to and develop in the sport of soccer. These players tend to be on the field 3-5 times a week depending on the season
What is the difference between tryouts and Assessments?
Assessments are for community players. Every player signed up for the community will need to attend their age level assessment. We use assessments to place like minded and like skilled players together on teams and it is also used to decide what tier the team would benefit from the most. We then declare teams in tiers to EMSA.
Try outs are for players who want to play club soccer. Players must sign up for it ahead of time and then attend the tryout. Fort Saskatchewan Soccer relies on outside support to run these tryouts and lets us know who is better suited to want team, or if a player just needs a little more training before making the team.
What equipment does my child need to play soccer?
All players require their own Indoor or Outdoor soccer shoes and shin pads and a labelled water bottle. They will require black Soccer shorts, black socks. These can be purchased at Winners’ way source for sports. Please Note: No Jewelry of any kind is to be worn for practices or games, or hair ties with metal on them.
